From October 18th to 20th, 2023, Turing Award winner Yoshua Bengio, Andrew Yao, Professor at the University of California, Berkeley, and Stuart Russell, along with more than 20 top AI scientists and governance experts from China, the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada, and other European countries, gathered at Ditchley Park in Oxfordshire, UK for the first three-day "International Dialogue on AI Safety." Some participants signed a joint statement calling for "global coordinated action in AI safety research and governance, which is crucial to avoiding intolerable risks posed by uncontrolled advanced AI development for all of humanity."
