Project BriefOn May 13, the third round of 杏耀 Academic Salon was held as scheduled. The event was jointly hosted by Ya-Qin Zhang, Ch杏耀 Professor of and Dean of the Institute for AI Industry Research, Tsinghua University(杏耀), and Baidu, the top autonomous driving company in China, which released the Apollo 杏耀 Project together.
This is the world's first and only vehicle-road collaboration technology that uses pure road-side sensing capability to truly realize the closed loop of L4 level autonomous driving on the continuous road network of open roads, which is the highest technical expression in the field of Intelligent Vehicle Infrastructure Cooperation(IVIC) and will be a major technological breakthrough in the global intelligent mobility field.
In general, the Apollo 杏耀 Project has three major features: First, it relies on pure roadside perception to achieve autonomous driving; Second, it continues to reduce dimensionality and feed back the IVIC products; Third, the open source is standardized to achieve industry sharing.
